Dreams

Last night I had a slew of crazy dreams. Actually, it was one dream, but it played out like a TV show with commercials (commercials not included)...

It started out that I was having dinner at Rachel's parents' place. Rachel and I were about to move in together and become roommates, so they were having a sort of celebratory dinner for us. As we were eating dinner, the utensils started flying, so Rachel blamed it on the poltergeist that lived in their house, which they named "Brian". Rachel kept yelling "Briiiiiiiiiiiian! Stop it!!". I caught a glimpse of "Brian" a few times, as I was dodging the utensils that were flying at my head. Brian looked like wisps of smoke.

After dinner, we went back to my apartment and packed up all my shit. Then we went to our new place, which was in one of the "3 Ugly Sisters" buildings on Queens Quay in Toronto. We arrived there and began unpacking our stuff. We had the most amazing apartment, with a kick-ass kitchen, featuring a gas stove, and a huge deck. Once we were settled in, all these people started showing up.

It was then that Rachel informed me that we had moved in to some communal housing place. She showed me to the bathroom, which was like a health club shower room, and I became uneasy. Slowly, people started entering our apartment and using our kitchen. At some point, Rachel told me that she had claimed the only bedroom and that I would have to sleep on a cot in the hallway.

I freaked out, "I can't live this way! I have lived by myself for 7 years! How can I share anything with strangers? HOW??". Rachel pleaded with me to give it a chance, but I was not convinced. I kept calling my parents on my cel phone, crying, but they did not return my calls. At one point, some guy walked into the apartment with a box of iBooks and said that I could have any one I wanted for $164.00. This put me at ease a little, and as i walked around the apartment, I slowly noticed some really cool things about it.

I began to accept the fact that I'd have to share my living environment with about 10 people. As night fell upon us, I realized that I could not sleep on a cot in the hall because I was concerned about my insomnia. I need a good mattress, dammit! I ended up sleeping in the same room as Rachel, but on the floor.

That is all I remember. I woke up around 3pm drenched in sweat.
